The Lenape & William Penn
Join Doug Miller, Historic Site Administrator of Pennsbury Manor in an exploration of the relationship between Pennsylvania’s first people (the Lenape) and the colonial founder of Pennsylvania, William Penn. The relationship between Penn and native peoples is one of legend. Frequently at the root of legends, lay the facts. The Lenape are recognized among native communities as a “grandfather” tribe, being in the east for 15-12,000 years. Hear their story and the intersection of people and cultures that would build the Pennsylvania colony.
